JA Job Shadow

JA Job Shadow™ takes middle grade and high school students into the workplace to learn about careers.  They are introduced to careers through one-day site orientation.

JA Job Shadow prepares students to be entrepreneurial thinkers in their approach to work. In-class sessions prepare students for a visit to a professional work environment, where they will face a series of challenges administered by their workplace hosts. Students learn how to research career opportunities and the skills needed to land and keep their dream job.

Event Day Overview

JA will assign participating schools to your company site, coordinate with the schools to arrange transpiration and provide student, teacher and JSD company coordinators with guide book materials.

Students arrive at company site and after attending a welcoming and brief company overview, they then spend time with their assigned volunteer.

Complete the Job Shadow Post Event Evaluation Form and return all required documentation to the JA Coordinator.
