| Middle Grades and High School
Volunteers Needed! |
 |
Among the
strategic initiatives developed by the board for
2008/2009 is the desire to expand programming
in middle and high schools. Requests
from our education partners continue to exceed
JA's ability to recruit all the needed volunteers,
especially in these two arenas. So, if you
have the desire to work with middle school
students and serve as a positive role model at a
critical stage of their development; or if you
want to help high school students develop
practical work and life skills, we can find a
class for you! Please contact Bernadette Byrd, Programs Team Leader at
210.490.2007 x106.

JA of South Texas
16th
Largest
Thanks to the
support of our volunteers, educators,
contributors, and board of directors, Junior
Achievement of South Texas rose from the 21st to
the 16th largest JA operation in the United
States.
Most importantly, the
impact on economically disadvantaged students as a
portion of all students who participated increased
from 66% to 69%. This represents an increase
of over 8,500 students from the prior year.
