 AT&T, Inc.

AT&T Logo

AT&T has continuously demonstrated its ongoing dedication to Junior Achievement and its mission to ensure that every student has a fundamental understanding of the free enterprise system. In 1919 JA was co-founded by then AT&T president Theodore N. Vail. Since then, AT&T has been a pioneer of inspiring young people to improve their own quality of life.

The generous gift provided by the AT&T Foundation this year will support the use of JA Titan in South Texas. This technology based curriculum aligns with AT&T’s philanthropic goals of enhancing education, community vitality, and technology access. JA Titan introduces critical economics and management decisions through an interactive web-based simulation. Coupled with the presence of a volunteer in the classroom, students apply their knowledge of business as they participate in an online competition.

Thank you to AT&T, The AT&T Foundation, and JA board member Selim Bingol for your investment in the future of our students!

 There's Always Time to ‘SPARE!’
 Junior Achievement Fall Bowl-A-Thon

NtlBatImage01

Every year, business executives and their staff get together to raise funds for JA’s annual Bowl-A-Thon. During the 2006-2007 school year, this team-building event will help JA raise approximately $360,000 to provide economic education programming to 60,000 students! Companies find that participating in this event has great benefits:

  • Great organizational team-builder

  • Significant community impact with little or no cost to company

  • Participants experience a fun-filled one day event, consisting of 2 games of bowling, shoe rental, goodies, and Bowl-A-Thon t-shirt

JA will host a kick-off luncheon to prepare coordinators with everything they need for a successful event, including an introduction of a new online registration and pledge solicitation system.

If you are interested in learning more about the JA Bowl-A-Thon or would like to attend the Fall Kick-off Luncheon on August 30, 2006, please contact Angie Suarez-Pella at (210) 490- 2007 x 115.

 JA America Works!
 New Program Introduction

5 kid header

On September 1, 2006, JA Worldwide will release several new programs, including JA America Works into our local communities. This middle grades program focuses on the impact of business and entrepreneurship on the development of the United States during the 19th century, and is designed to align with U.S. history and economic standards. Students will be able to identify key contributions to our economic development as a nation and understand how technology has advanced the production of our society.

These concepts will provide students with the critical thinking skills they need to effectively analyze current events and business opportunities and challenges that they will encounter in our society. If you are interested in learning more about our JA America Works program or would like to volunteer, please contact Veronica Avila at (210) 490-2007 x 119.
