 Bringin’ in the ’green!’
 Junior Achievement Golf Tournament

Ernst Golf06

Thanks to our dedicated partners and enthusiastic participants, our June 5, 2006 golf tournament raised over $56,000 to support approximately 56,000 students throughout South Texas! There was great effort put forth by all, especially our tournament champions representing Ernst & Young: Chris Tilley, Robert Henry, Stan Ball, and Kent Gerety.

Together we are preparing students for the future and helping them realize their potential. It is only through our partnerships that we are able to better equip our area youth to thrive as productive participants in our economy.

If you are interested in participating in our annual golf outing, please contact Tamara Taubert (210.490.2007 x107).

 Summer Fun 101
 Junior Achievement Summer Collaborations

ESPKids

Junior Achievement has partnered with San Antonio Parks and Recreation Summer Programs and The Boy and Girls Club, to bring the world of business to even more students this summer. Thanks to a generous contribution from the San Antonio Area Foundation, as part of the George Weldon Sheffield Fund, approximately 3,000 students from kinder through 8th grade will participate in a JA program during the summer.

Students participating in JA during the summer benefit from positive role models teaching them to understand the importance of education while preparing them for their future. If you have any questions regarding JA’s summer programs, please contact Veronica Avila (210.490.2007 x119).

 Kids Speak

KidsBack2Back

Junior Achievement strives to inspire students to realize their potential and prepare them for the world beyond their youth. Together, we can bridge the gap between students’ education and their potential roles in the workplace. Through our educator and volunteer relationships, we have gathered feedback that demonstrates the impact of each volunteer and program from a student’s perspective. Thank you to all our volunteers and supporters for making a difference in the life of a child!

“I get an allowance and I would blow it off on anything. After JA Economics for Success, I learned how to budget. Now I have money for everything I need.”
- Rocio, Eighth Grade

“Ms. Montesclaros and my teacher, Ms. Moten-Harrell, showed us how and how not to act during an interview. They were really good. I did not know that first impressions were important, but now I do.”
– Danisha, Fifth Grade

"One day a girl came in to teach us about our community and we learned a lot about it, she was fun. Our community is very very good and you can have a good community if you take care of it. You are a good person to come to school and teach us."
– Allyson, Second Grade
