 Participant Feedback
 Volunteer Survey Results

Each semester, thousands of individuals take the time and make a commitment to volunteer in one of Junior Achievement’s k-12 programs. They do so to serve as role models, share their life experience, and provide a better sense of future for our children.

The feedback we receive continues to be positive. 99% of volunteers who responded to the fall survey rated their overall experience “good” (20%) or “excellent” (79%). And when asked if they had a better appreciation for the education environment, 94% indicated yes:

“I really admire educators and what they do everyday.”

“The teachers alone can’t teach (students) everything, so this program is very important.”

“I really loved working in the classroom and understand what a hard job teachers have.”

Many thanks to all our volunteers and professional educators who make Junior Achievement the effective bridge between business and education.

 Supporter Spotlight
 Citigroup

Banks in Action

Citigroup has been a longtime supporter and friend of Junior Achievement. Locally, the Citibank Service Center has adopted Five Palms Elementary School and will provide the human and financial resources needed to support whole-school program implementation. Our thanks to Alba Quiroga, JA board member; Lynn Belk, Senior Director of Communications & Community Relations; and everyone at the Citibank Service Center for making this partnership successful.

On a global level, Citigroup has partnered with JA Worldwide to develop JA Banks in Action. The JA Banks in Action program was originally developed in 1996 through a partnership with Citibank of Argentina and Junior Achievement of Argentina. The program soon expanded into Eastern Europe and Canada, reaching beyond borders, languages, and nationalities.

JA Banks in Action is designed to give students the opportunity to master financial knowledge and skills they need to make the most of their financial resources and function in the global economy. The program:

  • Is designed purposefully and strategically to align with academic standards.
  • Aligns primarily with economics and personal finance standards.
  • Also focuses on reading, writing and mathematics standards.
  • Is delivered by Citigroup volunteers.

Recently, the program has been revised and updated and will be available to markets in the United States. We are proud to announce JA of South Texas has been selected as one of the pilot sites for the implementation of JA Banks in Action this spring.
