JA of South Texas Students Advance to National Finals
ESPKidsThanks to the energy and dedication of educators Pamela Hummel (O'Connor High School) and Larry Sanchez (Tuloso Midway High School); and volunteers Lacreeda Guerrero (Citi) and Todd Davis (Flint Hills Resources) two teams from south Texas have advanced to the national finals in two JA online competitions.

EMO Bank, a team of students from O'Connor High School in San Antonio was the top qualifier and will travel to New York City on July 16-17 to compete in the 2007 JA Banks in Action North American Competition sponsored by the Citi Foundation. This face-to-face challenge will have teams competing in a multi-round elimination event and will ultimately determine the best JA student bankers in North America!

Each year JA Worldwide conducts a national JA TITAN competition. Holo Tech, four students from Tuloso Midway High School in Corpus Christi earned the right to advance to the national JA TITAN finals at Disney World in Orlando, Florida. This team of students emerged as one of the top eight teams in the country. They were able to accomplish this by accurately balancing supply and demand of their product through the use of pricing strategies, smart production goals, and managing marketing and R&D to best stimulate demand for their product.

We wish both teams well at their respective competitions this summer!
