Junior Achievement Partners with AT&T for JA Job Shadow

Thursday, February 23, 2017

When did you first answer “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Who were your role models?

The reality is many students don’t have professional role models; they may be the first in their family to reach high school and career dreams may feel out of reach. This is why Junior Achievement of South Texas and AT&T, as part of AT&T Aspire and AT&T HACEMOS, have teamed up to bring a mentoring program, JA Job Shadow™, to San Antonio. More than 65 students will be paired with AT&T employees to learn firsthand about career opportunities by visiting a corporate office.

You can see how the program has already impacted students’ lives here: You’ll hear from Emiliano, a student whose family has a history of dropping out but he now is determined to break the mold. You’ll also hear from Dania Shaneen, an AT&T employee who is the daughter of immigrant parents and helps the students realize that anything is possible with hard work.
